How to convert JPG to PNG

  1. 1

    Add your photos

Drop up to five files on the tool, choose them from your device or paste one from the clipboard.

  2. 2

    Choose PNG

PNG is already chosen. It keeps every pixel, so there is no quality to set.

  3. 3

    Download

Download each photo on its own, or all of them at once in a ZIP file.

When PNG is the right choice

PNG saves every pixel exactly, so a picture does not change when it is edited and saved again and again. Some programs, templates and print services also ask for PNG.

PNG does not make a photo better

Converting keeps the photo as it is now: detail lost in the JPG does not come back, and the background does not become transparent. The file only gets larger.

Camera data stays behind

The new files are written from the picture alone, so they carry no camera data: no camera model, no date and no location. That is safer when you post a photo online. If you need that data, keep the original as well.

When the photo itself is the problem

Converting changes the file, not the photo: it cannot fix a blurry, dark or badly framed picture. If the photo is for a CV, a profile or an application and you have no good one, a professional headshot made from a few selfies gives you one.

Questions about JPG to PNG

How do I convert JPG to PNG?

Add the JPG photos, keep PNG and download them, one by one or in a ZIP.

Does converting JPG to PNG make the background transparent?

No. The photo keeps its background. PNG can be transparent, but converting does not remove anything.

Can I convert several photos at once?

Yes, up to five at a time. Download each one on its own, or all of them together in one ZIP file.

Does converting lower the quality?

Not visibly at the default quality of 92, which keeps a photo looking as it is. PNG keeps every pixel. Converting cannot add detail that the original did not have.

Are my photos uploaded anywhere?

No. The photos are converted by your browser, on your device. They are not sent to PicSuit or to anyone else.
